If you're not black when you go to school, go to the hospital, apply for a job, when get pulled over, then you're not black. Sorry.
@mcastimovies That's all real. But which Latinos that are most successful? And which Latinos that are most oppressed? Color matters.

@aurabogado completely! I don't disagree with that at all. My issue is that I don't think it's a hard set line we can sort ourselves by. -
@mcastimovies I think my one hard line is that if you're blond haired, blue eyed, then yeah, you can be Latina. But you're white Latina. -
@mcastimovies And being white Latina can be complex. But most of that complexity errs on the side of privilege.... -
@aurabogado I think that's fair, to be aware of your privilege in a culture that operates heavily on colorism. -
@aurabogado usually when I bristle at these conversations,it's because the intent is to separate white Latinas out. That feels exclusionary -
@mcastimovies I think there's a difference between the fact that white Latinas are privileged... and talking about that privilege. -
@mcastimovies I think white women (who are not Latina) have the same concern. *shrugs* -
@aurabogado # white feminism. But like I don't want to see a space created for WL because they're not Latina enough and they're not W enough - 3 more replies

I usually keep quiet about it because I feel like it's such a personal thing.
