I don't need to see images or watch video of this killing. I don't need to consume black death in order to recognize that it exists.

A lot of us also have personal reasons for why we don't want to see images of cops killing people: it's happened to our friends and family.

The decision to plaster black death on the front page isn't arbitrary: it's one made by mostly white newsrooms and editors.

This does't mean that I want to see white people being killed on a front page, either. But it does mean I won't ever have to.
