There's a overt racist way, where someone makes up a race or ethnicity in order to get even more unearned advantage.

@politico's Mike Elk, is on the record as having pretended he was Native American to get into school. -
But it's not just him. White folks do this all the time. And never face any consequences as a result.

Then there's white Latinos, who use affirmative action programs in order to gain an advantage over actual people of color.

Yellow haired, blue eyed folks whose people made a quick stop in Latin America on their way from Spain claim POC ethnicity all the time.
