Seriously, tho. Anytime someone says "women and people of color," it's a huge sign that they haven't done intersectionality 101.
@gayle I'm reading these other examples you're providing as a derail to my original argument: I think I deserve to be seen.

@aurabogado However, when you tell me what must be going on in my head — that I disagree with. Because you're incorrect. -
@gayle Umm... So you understand intersectionality yet question why "women and people of color" is problematic? Ok. -
@aurabogado When I say "X and Y are ___", I am absolutely including things that are both X and Y. -
@gayle Where X is women and where Y is people of color.... -
@gayle The US recognizes discrimination against X. The US recognizes discrimination against Y. The US fails to recognize that XY exists. -
@gayle But you claim that you already understand this, so I'll take my free labor elsewhere. Have a good night. -
@aurabogado I am very willing to adjust my language and I appreciate you giving me an alternative. -
@gayle If you're willing to adjust your language, you'd consider the alternative I already suggested:https://twitter.com/aurabogado/status/569293431626993664 … - 2 more replies

@aurabogado I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to derail your argument. I am respecting that you feel it leaves you out. -
@gayle Thanks for saying that. Respecting what I feel that means not re-centering the conversation with "what about white men?" -
@aurabogado Eh. Okay, bad analogy. If I say I like spicy food and salty food, I'm certainly including spicy and salty food.
