I don't care what the intention was. I'm not ok with feeling satisfied that a black kid got beat for having a big mouth.
#FreshOffTheBoat -
I strongly feel like the decision to beat a black kid on
#FreshOffTheBoat is deeply rooted in anti-blackness. -
And, ultimately, I'm disappointed that I didn't see my non-black tweeps, and Asian tweeps especially, talking about this.

@aurabogado I will also say that tho ABC is a white corp, there was a South Asian writer, Huang and another Asian producer. -
@jazzagold And I also recognize how important this show is. It's just... sigh. -
@aurabogado Naw, fuck it. I'm not watching it. I'm old enough to remember Margaret Cho's show. - 1 more reply

@aurabogado@Hermit_Hwarang According to spoilers, they become friends in a later episode. Happened in real life, too. -
@ebeh Yeah that doesn't make it ok.@Hermit_Hwarang -
@aurabogado@Hermit_Hwarang Let's see how they handle the follow up. -
@ebeh That matters little to me. The episode closes with the audience feeling like justice was done. That's not ok.@Hermit_Hwarang -
@aurabogado@Hermit_Hwarang Make your feelings known to@FreshOffABC?
