I'm especially bothered by the idea that black people are somehow oppressing white Latinos by asking them things like "Are you adopted?"

@aurabogado Is it annoying to be asked that? I suppose so. But...that's not oppression. Something annoying =/= oppression. -

@ThisIsJoshSmith Just FYI, I agree with@aurabogado, that often white Latinos mistake annoying assumptions as oppression. -
@ThisIsJoshSmith@aurabogado If being mistaken for white is "oppression," you have it good. -

@aurabogado they exist? -
Like I don't know in what world these white Latinos don't know their history as settlers in the hemisphere.

@aurabogado Yea, but no one likes to be misidentified or told they're (not) this and that - especially when it comes from an outside group. -
@oswaldjleon No one likes being shot and killed for being black, either. To interrupt that moment with this is vapid--at best. -
@aurabogado You're right, but that video was tounge and cheek. I don't think they were trying to comapre their experiences to PoC.

@aurabogado I once read a white Latina write about how life is hard because she doesn't have the "look" to be cast as a Latina character... -
@aurabogado And I wanted to be like, "Honey, you have the skin color to be cast more often by white companies than non-white Latinas do."
