Soboroff, like so many others, center offensive racist behavior not in a standard of fairness, but in the First Amendment. Instead of saying something like, “It’s unacceptable to do that, and we should have a diverse panel here in order to understand why,” he literally laughed.

Thanks for responding, Jacob. Empowered white people refusing to participate in panels without underrepresented black, latinx, native people would be a real gamechanger. Would you consider making it your policy to demand representation on every panel you're on from here on out?
