Soboroff, like so many others, center offensive racist behavior not in a standard of fairness, but in the First Amendment. Instead of saying something like, “It’s unacceptable to do that, and we should have a diverse panel here in order to understand why,” he literally laughed.

The spectrum for the Megyn Kelly Today show is now outright defending blackface to laughing about it uncomfortably. And that betrays how the spectrum of how people see it in the country. I often tweet about all-white panels because its an ethical imperative. This is why.
