If you thought cages were bad, I hate to break it to you: It gets much, much worse. Drunk employees. Sexual assault. The forced administration of heavy psychotropic drugs that leave children "hypnotized." Our new investigation:https://www.revealnews.org/article/migrant-children-sent-to-shelters-with-histories-of-abuse-allegations/ …

Our tax dollars are paying to send very little children to Shiloh, which has received more than $25 million in the past five years. This little Garifuna child, originally from Honduras, was NINE YEARS OLD when he entered. I've examined hundreds of documents related to his story.

I obtained text messages where this child’s mom, Maribel Bernardez, was given instructions by her son’s case worker at Shiloh to wire money across state lines to buy her son things from outside. There’s no government oversight of this. But I obtained the Western Union receipts.pic.twitter.com/5XONySnh1f

Maribel was sometimes able to see her son by video. He was "hypnotized and lethargic,” she told me. She demanded to see what he was on. Someone from Shiloh sent a photo from a computer. When he came home, she put his drugs away. They're in an overflowing giant freezer bag.

Maribel NEVER authorized Shiloh to medicate her child. What’s more, she begged them to stop. This is the affidavit Shiloh staffers sign as if they are the “Parent, Guardian, or Conservator.” Actual parents like Maribel never even see this form. “What’s this? she asked me.pic.twitter.com/98DLgDTNg5

The first time I spoke with Maribel's son, I asked him to tell me about a day at Shiloh. He left in April and he remembers quite a bit. Like brushing his teeth. Getting dressed. GETTING PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED BY A STAFFER. He mentioned it casually and says it happened all the time.

This exclusive story, a deep investigation into what’s happening at these facilities beyond the headline story of cages and foil blankets, was reported with

A lot of people are asking me where girls are kept by ORR. They’re kept in a lot of places. One of those places is the Shiloh Treatment Center. Records I’ve obtained indicate there were several girls there in the past year, and it’s likely they’re still there now.

Thanks for your information, however, as a nurse, I have to reply that children die every day at hospitals. Do you have a cause of death?
-
Did you read the link? Two cases were from asphyxiation. And one of those from being locked in a closet. That doesn't normally happen in hospitals, now does it? Maybe at nursing homes, but then we'd be asking the same questions.
-
I'm just asking because REVEAL is new to me, and I'm still trying to figure out the fake news from the real news.
-
No problem! I like that you’re thinking critically. The child that died at Shiloh died from restraints. Others who died at facilities run by the same owner also died from restraints. One died from suffocation. In a closet.
-
So so sorry to hear. This is all so messed up, and I'm triggered to become aware and help with all of this being made public right now
-
Thank you for asking questions and for thoughtfully engaging this.

I would like to see your source information for the claim that at least one child has died at Shiloh. Please cite your reference.

Good question even if Hoover is http://a.bot I believe you. Some won't.

Leanne, I know and confused everyone . I wanted folks to read the article that I did without ignoring it . I apologize .
-
Sorry for the grumpiness! More coffee and definitely food before tweeting. I was hangry.
-
Leanne , no worries
We are on the same side. Thanks for getting back to me.

Any more info on the child who died? One wonders if the medical care provided at medical centers is deficient. Are the children brought to hospital if needed? Is heat stroke a problem? Sounds like kids are being over-educated to manage psychiatric problems, without consent
-
*Over-medicated (typo)
-
Or perhaps just to make them behave. Toddlers separated from their parents can act out.
