    We’ve got great news – a wee brolga chick has hatched at Auckland Zoo! It’s been five-years since this brolga pair have bred and our bird keepers are over the moon! Visit our Australian habitat this Zoo Lates and all Waitangi weekend to see them. 💚

    Our vet staff and bird keepers spoke to about just how special it is for kakapo Toiora to be returning home to Whenua Hou and what this survivor has battled to do so. 💚

    Toiora being released on Whenua Hou yesterday. She's never been outside of a nest in the wild before after 276 days in hospital, so there's a whole new world to get used to. She was a little reluctant to leave her crate. Pic: Sarah Little.

    Today one of our island takahē, Kuini, was found to be unwell. Our team immediately caught her and sent her to town with the team at . She is now with the amazing team at who we know will take great care of her... We will update you all as soon as we can!
