This could also be said for our ALG Thai courses. Students should not try to mentally translate every word but focus on the overall story, demonstration, or activity. Looking for the larger meaning or sequence of events will allow the rest to fall into place over time.

To me the expression "language hacking" has connotations of doing things that might provide short-term gains but at the expense of building a solid foundation in the language for fluency and accuracy in the mid- to long-term.

Does anyone else find it annoying when people use words like "language hacking" or the like? Kind of gives the impression if you use this magic method it will be a silver bullet to all your problems and you won't have to put in the hundreds of hours you actually need to get good

Also besides Brown was influenced by thinkers like William T. Powers who developed Perceptual Control Theory. Brown applied it to his brain theory of SLA saying by first internalizing L2 with experience we gain the reference signals that our output will then converge on

Thanks for sharing my videos! My channel has English videos that anyone can understand regardless of their first language. But having lived in Southeast Asia many videos will have content that relates to Thailand and that will be familiar to Thai people.

Started back at the AUA Thai Program. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I last studied Thai! Amazing how exhausting it is, yet also quite fun.

When speaking we do trigger some input from whomever we are speaking with, but that tends to be limited to the context we are comfortable with. We don't really expand or scope in the language. Yes, input, continued deliberate input, is the key to our success.
