@munin can't get a MULTICS certification either, and that alone would sell me on your elite status =)
.@rhymebyter @munin yet, 17 known vulns in MULTICS, vs 20+ year closed-source OSs with 4500? =)

@attritionorg@munin But really, Windows is derived from OpenVMS and by extension RSX-11, it has *never* been a highwater mark for security. -
@rhymebyter
@munin 45 or so vulns in OpenVMS, 4500 in Microsoft products? still a huge gap here... -
@attritionorg@munin Total of schools teaching OpenVMS anymore (I was in one once): 0. -
@rhymebyter
@munin you are effectively putting a time-based limitation on the "many eyes" open source argument for being 'more secure' then? -
@attritionorg@munin In that instance, the implication is that you do not even have people trained to use the OS anymore. It's worthless. -
@rhymebyter
@munin yet, you started to argue security of one or another, where i was arguing 'value of a cert'...? -
@attritionorg@munin you mistake dialog for argument. I am not interested in continuing to attempt dialog when you react as arguing. -
@rhymebyter
@munin i react to better understand your point over a limited character medium. nothing else - 1 more reply

@attritionorg@munin and how many users? Turns out, more users expose more bugs, and get more fixed in most cases. -
@rhymebyter
@munin perhaps, you also completely reject the "open source, many eyes" philosophy (which many do). taking a stance here? -
@attritionorg@munin I do not completely reject it. OpenVMS has limited deployment and a sum total of 0 schools teaching it anymore.
