@bgodette @CenturyLink 1. that speed isn't what i got the last 10 years over same copper 2. i'm 5k feet as the crow flies basically
@attritionorg 1/2 since you've had it for 10y, and are over 5k, it's possible they've installed a VDSL remote and you're getting shit on...
@attritionorg 2/2 which is a side effect for CLink to push out legacy copper they're required to share. FTTN (VDSL) is closed to 3rd party.
@bgodette implying pushing out old shared copper, in favor of different service, presumably higher priced?
@attritionorg not so much actually, but it locks out CLECs from providing xDSL services to an area and paves path to FTTH later.
@bgodette yeah. i've asked, begged them to take more money for better bandwidth, no joy every time. =(
@attritionorg if you're going to DenSec tomorrow we could talk.
@bgodette not sure I can make it, but will try to swing by. curious about modern RBOC stuff like this. been years since I was into it.
@attritionorg @CenturyLink and what is your modem reporting for FEC and CRC? Also do you have voice as well?
