If NSA had access to DPRK since 2010 then they likely knew about Sony (and other attacks) before they happened and issued no warning.
@Kujman5000 @spacerog there are ways to hinder the attack w/o blowing the source. NSA is smart, right?

@attritionorg@spacerog How would you pick one over another? Attackers probably used X amount of methods to break in, if they all failed. -
@attritionorg@spacerog They probably went after numerous companies with different sources. I think they would get suspicious. -
@Kujman5000@spacerog "suspicious" doesn't matter as long as they can't attribute. -
@attritionorg@spacerog If you notice a recurring fly in your house and you can't figure out where it came from, you secure all openings. -
@Kujman5000@spacerog bad analogy. NSA can hinder attacks without touching NK networks. -
@attritionorg@spacerog Go deeper, it's not a network analogy, it's an intelligence one. The point is to continue to obtain intel. -
@attritionorg@spacerog So Sony is saved, NK changes their method of operation, scraps our intel gathering capability and now we are blind. -
@Kujman5000@spacerog making silly assumption NSA is that sloppy at hindering an attack, sure. - 2 more replies
