@NotMedic yep, the 101 track was incredibly popular this year. needs to be expanded and get a room 3x bigger next year.
@attritionorg that was track 2 on Thursday, not the broom closet they used for the weekend. Defense will never be sexy or draw headlines.
@NotMedic i know =( trying to change it, and bring that up in my upcoming talk
@attritionorg he fucking nailed it. I didnt attend a security con this year, nothing to be gained from it.
@zate i go to a few to speak, a few to support (bsides), one to socialize (vegas). otherwise, prefer to watch videos of talks.
@attritionorg i went to splunk .conf2014, was great. very useful stuff. Blackhat i couldn't even find a video to watch that was useful.
@attritionorg i pick & choose cons. I only go to good def talks ie Ground Truth @bsidesLV. I talk to smart ppl. My cons help my day2day work
@gdbassett @bsidesLV yep, being picky on cons is very helpful. i lean towards BSides in general, usually quite happy with the lineup.
@attritionorg @BSidesLV I wish their was a way to encourage people to watch the little known person talking about specialty ....
@attritionorg @BSidesLV ... Rather than going to defcon, only watching the hyped talks, and blowing time on the parties.
