@RhysRhaven who did the@thotcon keynote this year? was it good/bad? -
@attritionorg@thotcon I kid you not, it was this guy in different clothing. http://www.picturesnew.com/media/images/aliens-meme-image.jpeg … -
@RhysRhaven@thotcon wait, Richard Thieme? he is typically a fun and engaging speaker, even if you don't buy into any of the alien angle =) -
@attritionorg@thotcon By the time he got to ProjectBlueBook, I was slamming screwdrivers and I wasn't alone. 10am is too early for UFOs. -
@RhysRhaven@thotcon i know his talks aren't for everyone, but I would bet money it was better than the shit@schneierblog delivered in 2013 -
@attritionorg@thotcon@schneierblog is just too used to talking to muggles,poor guy. Dont forget the time mgmt motivational keynote at 0x2

@attritionorg it's about recent history. i'm guessing the last 5minutes :) -
@ukscone exactly. i unofficially use "vulnerability historian" after ~ 21 years of maintaining a VDB of some kind or another. -
@attritionorg Do my notebooks count? they are written in cuneiform on pottery shards :) -
@ukscone you submit something to me in Tolkein runic, without error, I likely vote yes without translating it past the abstract.

@attritionorg How long (average) do you spend on reading a single proposal? Is it different between ones you'll accept vs. reject? -
@USSJoin it varies yes. full read of abstract and outline (if not too long) guaranteed. supporting files/slides and googling sometimes.
