@attritionorg You are 100% wrong. A hundred people on twitter calling you names can have serious consequences, like suicide. It is bullying.

@pastyjerk 100 people and sustained harassment, yes. but one person saying one or two comments is not bullying. -
@attritionorg even if it comes from someone with high personal power, which incites followers to imitate the behavior? -
@pastyjerk "$person is a jerk" does not inherently incite imitating behavior. can't hold a person responsible for other's actions like that -
@attritionorg in terms of individual behavior, it's still wrong to be a jerk if the recipient is not capable of taking said abuse -
@pastyjerk if they truly aren't capable of taking abuse, they should be careful where they venture on the Internet. -
@attritionorg why is that a justification, though? Why should we put up with jerks on the internet? Why not try to improve the culture? -
@pastyjerk it isn't "justification". it is advice if, again, someone truly cannot take criticism.

@attritionorg this is a terrific blog post, even disregarding recent drama -
@drspringfield i meant to use the recent as a direct example, but it certainly goes well beyond the last week. -
@attritionorg@drspringfield Agreed, with both yours and Braden's assertions. Chilling (or warming?) reminder of The Crazy. -
@quine@attritionorg@drspringfield when a blogpost begins with dictionary definitions, you know you're gonna need a helmet. -
@Viss@quine@drspringfield i think more should. too many words, we forget what they *really* mean. society co-opts them often. -
@attritionorg@quine@drspringfield +1. Words mean things. It annoys me to all fuck when people invent new meanings for words arbitrarily. -
@Viss@quine@drspringfield EXACTLY. I like throwing a dictionary at those people.

@attritionorg Is it possible that 'Bully' has replaced 'Nazi' in online discussions after 'Nazi' became clearly too ridiculous? -
@marcotietz good point. for some I am sure you are right. means we need an updated Godwin's law. -
@attritionorg you use it too generically, it loses all its meaning. Is there already a Jericho's law? :) -
@marcotietz hah, I want my 'law' to relate to the use of squirrels online I think!

@attritionorg You keep playing battles of wit. It is unfair to play with the unarmed. -
@obfusicationx2 oh come on, I don't even "have college"!
