I just had someone tell me they've spent over 20 years in #InfoSec ...call me skeptical.
@Wh1t3Rabbit there are a *ton* of people who claim that, some as many as 10 years ago. #InfoSec

@attritionorg Points made earlier included RACF admins, and people who "did" InfoSec before we formally called that a job title, makes sense -
@Wh1t3Rabbit@attritionorg I had an employe who claimed he did it for 30. 25 of it was military/gov account management and paper pushing. -
@stevewerby@attritionorg Yea, see ...that's different.

@attritionorg@Wh1t3Rabbit They're all full of s**t, unfortunately HR has no clue at all, anywhere...#InfoSec -
@dorianmuthig@Wh1t3Rabbit Nah, in 2012, claiming 20 years of security is reasonable, but not the#s that claim it. -
@attritionorg@dorianmuthig Fair point, which is why it's critical for HR to know who they're hiring... -
@Wh1t3Rabbit@dorianmuthig #1 biggest problem. admin who does 10% security as his job. did he do 'infosec' or not? (most claims count it) -
@attritionorg@dorianmuthig I'd say it's fair to claim experience at 50/50 ... it's not just 'hacking' that counts -
@Wh1t3Rabbit@dorianmuthig Other big thing. Does the person have 1 year of experience 20x over? Or 20 years of experience. =) -
@attritionorg@dorianmuthig Another fair point. Although this gets into an area that is difficult to judge... right exp for right job role
