@ygjb "try to make things better" is the shroud most use to make themselves feel better at night though. things aren't better at all.
@ygjb 20 years ago it was a LOT easier to achieve security, and no one did. it's 1000x harder now. why do you think it will happen?

@attritionorg practical answer: because the risk is higher; philisophical: because the future of technology requires it. -
@ygjb that answer was 100% the same 20 years ago. next argument? -
@attritionorg I am a well paid optimist who is willing to lose trying to do the right thing, not sure I have anything else to add ;) -
@ygjb I'm arguing, it is lost. Not only lost, but the current security model has *definitively* lost. -
@attritionorg Sure, but does that mean we keep trying to make things better? How will we figure it out if we stop trying new things? -
@ygjb Show me a "new thing" in security the last 10 years. I mean, truly new. No variations on old ideas. -
@attritionorg I already agreed that it is hard, and agreed that things are going to continue to get worse. What do you suggest? -
@ygjb If I get people to admit it is a lost cause, only then do I start spewing my radical and crazy ideas to fix it! - 1 more reply
