@attritionorg Right away, I know this contains untruths. No contractor anywhere gets "promised" a full time job in the future.

@blueben If only. -
@attritionorg I feel for having to do that kind of work. It's bad. Google needs to (and now, probably will) address psychological care. -
@blueben Exactly. That job should be a max of 12 months *with* psych care, then hired full time in a different department. -
@attritionorg Cap? Sure. Psych care? Absolutely. Guaranteed job afterwards? Uh.. why? -
@blueben Not guaranteed, assuming they have a skill set that matches elsewhere. If not, told why; "for your own good" -
@attritionorg If you have an appropriate skill set elsewhere, I'm not sure you would be "dregs of humanity reviewer" in the first place. -
@blueben just out of college with no work history, in this economy, you may be. - 1 more reply

@attritionorg@Google Without any direct knowledge of this case, but direct knowledge of the law, I am pretty sure this article is total BS -
@hackajar What law would make that scenario illegal? -
@attritionorg 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (2008) Business must report, but MUST NOT monitor for (Section F) -
@hackajar imagine that is legally gray in that they aren't monitoring their employees, but monitoring what their product indexes?

@attritionorg I suspect they do this because the mental health issues (and ensuing costs) might be steep but@google you got deep pockets -
@Tactical_Intel with all the support services on campus, hard to believe they don't have a full time psych on staff -
@attritionorg Agreed. I've actually heard of this happening a few times there. Pretty sad. Do no evil - unless it hits the bottom line.

@attritionorg back in the 90's I was tasked with removing porn (all sorts) from an ISPs innd server on a monthly basis. it was horrible. -
@lcashdol I have read other articles about people responsible for it, including in law enforcement. Absolutely horrible work. -
@attritionorg Yep, images I'll sadly never forget.
