The note on the safety of transit is interesting. In my state I often see transit measured solely on vehicle upkeep not safety or person mobility.

forgets that fire departments can often work against narrow streets and even on-street parking in the name of fire safety and access. For example, “I need room to place the outriggers for my ladder truck”. It’s not just traffic engineers and state DOTs.

Less space for car drivers to eliminate high speed driving works, BUT here in the netherlands car drivers succeed to drive fast despite these restrictions!

Virtually all the materials on the site are focused on driver & pedestrian behavior, education and enforcement. There is almost nothing about the role road design plays in deaths and injuries. It's like trying to prevent lung cancer w/out mentioning smoking.
