Since the modern world is already pretty egalitarian, most critiques come down to various manifestations of timeless laws of nature such as "winners keep winning". EX: if you form a strong partnership you're more likely to succeed at new things than people on their own.https://twitter.com/sarahmei/status/1102803364637626369 …

This was written about Amazon but could be about any tech company - parents with stay-at-home partners (mostly men) always do better and advance faster than parents who don’t. It doesn’t have to be that way. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-03-04/holdout-jeff-bezos-confronted-by-amazon-moms-demanding-daycare … pic.twitter.com/R8KWYg0wO0

Already egalitarian? Ha ha ha ha ha well friend, if you believe that, I’ve got a really nice bridge to sell you. Lights included! Cash only, of course 😉pic.twitter.com/cB38Va2QnM

Yup. As a specific example, 94% of Americans support a Constitutional amendment specifically forbidding discrimination based on sex. Very egalitarian.https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/breaking-americansby-94---overwhelmingly-support-the-equal-rights-amendment-era-300286472.html …

The fact that we need such an amendment indicates that we are far from egalitarian, currently.

We don't need an amendment. Most people thought the Constitution already said that. The vast majority agree equality is good. That's egalitarian.https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/egalitarianism …

An egalitarian society is one where people all have equal opportunity - not one where people *think* we all have equal opportunity, or even one where people *think we should* have equal opportunity. It’s one where we *actually have it,* and the stats and research say we don’t.

I linked to a dictionary to cite my use of the term. You also have the whole internet at your finger tips.

I didn’t say egalitarian means everyone is equal, either. Work on your reading comprehension for next time👍🏻
