I used 8 seconds of a song in a 28 minute video which was fine for a year until it was 'manually' claimed by the music label. So now everything I make from it goes to them. There is no way those 8 secs can act is a replacement of the original song. Broken system 100%

Mine was fine for a few months until someone from UMG hit it with a manual claim where I was talking over the portion of the track they claimed.

Legally, there is a law that separates video and audio copyright. Also, fair use is a thing where you used someone else's audio, but improved upon it, thus enhancing the copyrighted material.
