I’ve been thinking about what the hell happens when you take a psychedelic. I’m starting to believe it may be undoing our perception of the world (to a degree) that has evolved to get us to where we are today.

This is correct. I always thought tryptamines activated parts of the brain but they actually disable parts of the brain which render the world into a more biologically/socially useful construct. This talk describes that science:https://youtu.be/CNR4o5JZEi0
