It's not a totally bizarre remark. And it's not really an EMP that's likely but a Carrington Event style solar eruption. In any event, it's simply a good idea to have at least a week of food, water and basics stored at home. More than a week, though, and yeah, we're fucked.

It is bizarre. You wouldn't have access to USD other than whatever cash you have on hand.

I'm saying that bitcoin being wiped out isn't in itself a bizarre idea. An EMP scenario is simply a reduction of the idea that electronics are vulnerable to global catastrophe. But, in such a case, bitcoin is the least of your worries.

Yeah, if am EMP drops we can use our slips of paper that promise gold from the government (now in disarray) as currency. Surely society will continue like normal and businesses will operate on a paper based currency in the face of the apocalypse.

I don't see why people are so excited about bitcoin, in the end is just money. In the end someone will control the flow, banks or the state government. Is just the way things work

Yeah but the trace amounts of cocaine consumed while trying to survive eating only dollar bills will make sure we have a good time while we do. Checkmate
