Semantics aside, there's nothing wrong with people helping people.
Yes, but when they help people because of race, gender, sexual orientation and insist they aren't discriminating...
while discriminating within those URM groups themselves, it's about more than just helping people.
Perhaps. I think it's more nuanced. Privilege has many forms. Is an event designed around helping the poor discriminating against rich?
No and I wouldn't argue it does. But an event that happens to include rich people isn't inherently a problem imo.
Just like events that happen to be all male. The result changes the approach making me question their original motives.
