Well, the problem with setting it too high is people who only worry about social security. Some sort of fix is needed.

Seriously, if you don't have a net positive tax bill you shouldn't get a say in how things are done. Its like kids voting to have ice cream for dinner.

That is a truly interesting idea. Originally you had to own land to vote. The idea was similar, if you owned land you had a vested interest in how the gov taxed, where as it didn’t impact others as much. Land ownership clearly wouldn’t work today, but paying taxes could
