Aren't we betraying the use of the dictionary by using the two interchangeably? Socialism is centralized or forced... Charity is voluntary.

Maybe. But that's why I gave an example as well in addition to my use of the term. Maybe I should have said voluntarism or market based charity. Either way I'm not so scared of the S word that I run even if voluntary precedes it. Same ideal end. Different means.
