My answer, without thinking, was of course. Why? It's voluntary and localized. I get to see these people every day I go to the gym. I get to interact with them and learn about who they are as a person. The impact of my contribution is localized. That's huge.

Socialism at a large scale is peak inefficiency. More importantly your "fair share" feels like you're burning cash. You don't see a return. To make it work everything needs to be scaled down. Localized. Fewer degrees of separation between contributor and beneficiary.
