I watched the Fortnite Pro-Am with the same excitement as a live sporting event. To think I didn't believe @garyvee a few years ago when he said e-sports were next.

Thanks for that! I'll take a look

Don’t listen to the guy who can’t even spell Fortnite. It’s definitely esports.
@100Thieves just signed a pro Fortnite team. -
I'm not trying to be negative but right now fortnite is a trend. I want to see the growth after it's not
-
The term eSports is irrelevant to what game is being played. Tetris can be an esport if there are professionally run tournys.
-
Btw Tetris is a esports ironically, the scene is really small do
-
I actually watched it once lol. It was recommended to me on YouTube. More entertaining than I expected it to be but not for me.
-
Haha that is awesome!

The only other thing hurting it as an esport is item randomness and game meta. It's not so much that it can't work but something for devs to keep a close eye on. As a Fortnite esport skeptic, I've been pleasantly surprised so far.
-
It was pretty fun to watch the Pro Am take place in a (fairly) new meta. I was just hoping there were no major glitches brought to light during the event. Worth considering a more consistent game mode for competitive play?
-
Yeah, definitely entertaining. That jump pad from skybase in game 1? A play that only happens with that new item. As it develops I wouldn't be surprised to see casual/competitive modes with competitive changing less frequently.

I wouldn't consider it a esports because it doesn't have a scene yet. There have been no rule set or even setup everyone can follow yet. It will become a scene but until a tournament runs with ninja involved it's just a tournament in my eyes
