Actually, public utility companies use eminent domain to serve the public interest all the time. Pretty sure getting gas and electricity are in the public's interest.

Did you read it? I specifically make the point that the traditional use of eminent domain as you describe serves legitimate purposes. When private land is seized and given to other private owners, not for public use, is where my criticism in the piece begins.
