Specificity of the instrument’s construction/engineering, anyone who knows anything about what a custom-made instrument like this means to a master like Sissoko realizes what a horrible affront this is *beyond* the racist security spectacle that is US Customs. Wow.

I don't get the problem. What's the diff between this and the black Ariel (2021 film)? Yes also hire diverse authors ofc, but like kids will be reading these in schools for many years. Questioning the default whiteness of characters is important regardless of author intent.

"Honestly, the biggest thing is—I don’t want to throw it under the bus—but the app was clearly done by someone following a tutorial. It’s similar to projects I do with my mentees who are learning how to code."

2 days after MoS Finance chanted "Goli Maaro" to a crowd, a gunman opened fire on protestors outside Jamia. The police watched. One person injured. On the anniversary of Gandhi's death.

Morning inspiration: The glorious roof of this Iranian mosque. 😍 I love this level of detail, color and creativity. It’s breathtaking.

The Bangalore police say they can't afford to verify the documents of migrant labourers and that Aadhaar etc. aren't enough. So they evicted anyone who speaks Hindi and Bengali and razed their homes to the ground.

Aaron Swartz was hounded to his death by a grotesquely punitive justice system and federal prosecutors because he wanted to make articles from JSTOR free to the public and unlock human knowledge from for profit corporations. Rest in power Aaron. And let's nationalize JSTOR!

Love to see one of the nation’s largest police forces preemptively justify expansive surveillance and force deployment in the name of, in their own words, the non existent security threat presented by Iran 🙃

India, not long ago, was angry at rape. Madarsa schoolboys of a UP, tortured by suffered rectal bleeding. What do you think causes rectal bleeding? If after this, you choose silence , you lose the right to speak for kids.

... and the one time there was a popular uprising, it was because they were worried that they were offending "god" (and ofc this uprising was planned by a clever dude™️). The eltism is really laid on thick.

The main idea is that this Seldon dude can essentially predict general future trends with math so that essentially what actions people take at any time are largely irrelevant. BUT every one of the dudes predictions was achieved by clever moves made by clever dudes™️...

Reading Asimov's "Foundation" is a trip. It's cool to see a version of the "decline and fall of the Roman Empire" in a space society, but it's really jarring because there's literally no female characters (and I'm 85% in). Women are only mentioned when "and children" is suffixed
