I might want to add that this just completely disables support for bluetooth input devices in the OS, forcing use of the internal mic instead. It does not magically fix the core issue.

Oh, nice! This could be especially useful for some hackintoshes (like mine ;)), where some weird BT bug prevents switching codecs and just fucks up the whole audio system instead. Any hint which occurrence of those bytes to replace? Or better use a disassembler?

Very annoying bug, introduced in High Sierra. Guess we can't complain about Apple not testing on non-Apple HW :D There should be just one occurrence, I picked the pattern to be unique. The pattern is for 10.14.0.

Bluetooth audio can be stereo one way (a2dp) or mono duplex (hsp/hfp/sip) . It's a fundamental limitation. However some devices make two connections. I just use Bluetooth headphones in a2dp mode and an external mic , works great

Yep, that's precisely what I do here. The problem with macOS is that whenever a new input device is connected, it automatically switches to that device. The patch prevents the input device from being detected.
