Not sure about SF, but in Chicago there is 24-45 shot each weekend (black on black), and lots of shootings during the week. There is a huge gang problem. If you defund the police, how bigger does that gang prob get? What are people supposed to do for help?

So because your community has a problem we need to keep a corrupt system... How about a well trained unit specifically trained for gang interaction? Having police be responsible for everything is impossible to train them effectively for. We need smaller speciality groups.

Um...I'm pretty sure Chicago is not the only one that has this problem. And there are specific trained units. It's called "gang unit". When you defund the police that's all these other groups that help victims of human trafficking, drugs, gangs, ect.

But they're part of a broken system that asks good officers to cover for bad ones. I cant support a organization that behaves like the mob, if you can that's on you.

So then why cant the immunity law be abolished? You can't act like a mob if you have to be accountable. You can defund them all day, and yet if they can still have immunity it's all theater.

Doesn't matter. The system is corrupt. You can remove and change whatever you want but the culture of "blue wall of silence" will never go away. You need to separate agencies & not have them as a part of a larger umbrella group that will feel motivated to defend their coworkers

A gang officer in a separate organization wont feel compelled to defend a "beat cop" if they're not part of the same system and culture.

We survived most of human history without cops. We've had many systems in place. It's ok to invent another one.

What will make their replacement legit and keep rules followed? People think they can act like screaming babies and assault officers as it is. What do you think haps when peace counselor Steve shows up for a domestic violence call. Will he throw his purse at the perpetrator?

Ok .. We've literally had cops lying about abuse and getting caught on camera at an alarming rate. You need to check your privilege. You're defending a system you know is corrupt because that corruption doesn't impact you. I dont see any value in continuing this convo.

Corruption does matter to me. I look at things from more than one angle. Immunity laws need to be changed. You act like you don't know what I'm talking about when I say that. White privilege is bullshit. You have zero idea what has happened in the lives of others.
