The response should be obvious: Wages. Low wage and middle class workers need a path to long-term stability in the form of mandated livable wages. A one-time bonus is like being handed a rapidly-deflating life jacket when the water is rising.

If this happened under Obama you all would be kissing his feet.
-
The left was very hard on Obama for not doing nearly enough for protecting the environment, not going far enough on healthcare reform, and not fighting for a more significant federal min wage increase in 2009.

The response is that most of these companies that are giving bonuses, are also laying off thousands of workers.

Yes, the average $180 one time bonus in lieu of health insurance is the way to go

Cognitive dissonance. The left completely talks out its ass when it comes to working class people and what motivates them, what they value. Out of touch.

Their shitty wages are marginally less shitty today? Not much to brag about tbh.
-
LOL. It’s not like you can expect to be living large working at Walmart. But a ~20% increase in minimum wage is a good thing, period. Downplay all you want.

Few people will get the $1000 bonus. People who have worked at Walmart less than 10 years will get $200-300.
-
85,000 according to Walmart.
-
If accurate, that’s only 4 percent that will get it. Walmart has more than 2 million employees.
-
It's still more than a few.
-
All that aside, aren't you at all happy that many workers will be seeing a raise? Or are you only satisfied when the government compels it?
-
I’m happy they got a raise. It’s disingenuous to claim it was due to the tax cut.
-
Take it up with the Waltons. That's what they said.
