3,000 U.S. citizens died in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Trump just called it an “incredible, unsung success.”

It was the third hurricane and Puerto Rico had already been hit once. I realize in your fantasy world materials and supplies just magically appear but in the real world it was a logistic nightmare.

Does that make it an incredible success?

From a logistics standpoint considering the weather conditions - yes, it was an incredible success! What wasn't a success were the years leading up to hurricane Maria and the lack of local preparation and an electrical grid held together by strings and wire.

        1. That is nuts. You have a pt. on infrastructure. Follow up was negligent. 2. Your profile suggests appreciated of views from left and right. Except Greenwald, in no rational world is this true. 3. If Newsom doesn't win by 12 pts, I'll donate a $100 to a charity of your choice.

Hell, if you look at the underlying demographics, more US citizens likely died in PR — given that there were so many foreign nationals (at least 372 excluding the hijackers) in the WTC and on the planes during the 9/11 attacks, while virtually all who died in PR were US citizens.

The moving of supplies ONTO the island was a great success, but the moving of supplies from the port to the countryside was a failure, but PR kept asking for supplies instead of an army to transport them inland.
