Having no plastic straws at restaurants is also annoying when you have a kid who’s too little to drink from a cup.https://twitter.com/tylerkingkade/status/1033016442189426689 …

the kid who made up the stat about Americans using 500 million straws a day when he was 9 (which the NYT, WaPo, NPR, others later cited) did so by calling a handful of manufacturers and then extrapolating HE DOESN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHICH ONES HE CALLED!! https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/zahrahirji/plastic-straw-poll … pic.twitter.com/F2PoWpKd6M

There are non-plastic options that you could easily bring with you. Addressing your annoyance is a lot more annoying for the wildlife that has to deal with all of the plastic you are putting into the environment. Priorities?

I get that. They have to find an alternative. What about that pasta straw idea? Or carry your own stainless steel reusable.

It’s annoying that you don’t have the sense to bring your own reusable straw.

Not to be argumentative but why can’t people use paper straws? Aren’t they better for the environment? Do they have to be plastic? Genuinely curious.

any sacrifice we have to make on behalf of the environment is too much sacrifice. WE MUST NEVER DO ANYTHING.

You can purchase permanent ones for your child rather than destroying the ocean and turn it into a teachable moment about protecting ocean life.

small problem. Merely one more thing for parents to tote with them when they take their kids into a restaurant. You can bring your own baby straw.
