Heaven forbid reporters do more than just write press releases or interview the people who have been vetted by politicians as acceptable to talk to.

You can understand why
@Jim_Jordan is confused. When the right-wing press wants to report on someone, they rely on pundits with no direct knowledge who come forward voluntarily Seeking information from actual participants would seem like spying to himhttps://twitter.com/aterkel/status/1017091896156581889 … -
well, they rely on their pet reporters to be as obsequious as Hollywood Gossip Show presenters, so there is that.

How did we get here again?

I'd like to think it's simple confusion on the mechanics of journalism. But, it's also taking a phrase such as "fake news" and attempting to use it slam truthful reporting one doesn't "like."

Unlike Jordan who apparently took no action,
@CNN apparently checking sources and verifying accusations. Wonder which side is following the right process? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Kind of like Jordan and Nunes and friends have been doing in their hearings on the FBI, Clinton, etc.

That’s not how Fox News works. That’s why he’s so confused about all that “interviewing sources and verifying witness accounts.”

I heard some of you have even been writing down what people say and then telling everyone about it!

Sometimes they even record moving pictures on those new fangled recording thingamabobs. THEN THEY PLAY IT BACK!!! It’s the devil’s work I tells ya. Devil’s work. It twists the words all around.
-
Exactly. How dare you report what I said verbatim?

If they have dirt, who is to blame? The dirty person or someone who reported it for public knowledge about a public figure?
