That's what I keep hearing from conservative family members. Their parents are criminals and came breaking the law and put their children in this position. SO it's ok??? I guess is what they keep telling me.

I wouldn’t know what to say to that.
-
Doesn't matter. If you provide a factual rebuttal, they'll just move on to the next kneejerk glassy-eyed talking point. These are people who can look at thousands of traumatized children and parents and not be moved one bit. They're beyond rationality and decency.
-
Truly seems like it.
-
I have conservative family members as well, imagine they’d say the same. So question I’ve imagined for them - if they were guilty of a misdemeanor, does the state have the right to take their children away? Nah, of course not. The state can only do that to brown kids.

According to the SPLC both Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council are hate groups.
-
For their anti-LGBTQ stance, sure. But this adds another dimension to the hate. These groups had long publicly positioned themselves as race neutral. No longer, and that's big.

So these migrants, for MONTHS, have been trekking through the wilderness. They didn’t exactly have WiFi or TVs or even a newspaper. How were they to know that a lunatic took over the US and decided to suddenly enforce a policy?
#TrumpCamps -
Exactly. I was explaining the other day that it’s as if you want a burger, go to Burger King, order a burger, and then you’re separated from your kids and all of you are thrown in jail bc Burger King decided it’s now illegal to order burgers at Burger King.

That response will be repeated back to these organizations every time they attempt to legislate morality for the rest of eternity.

They are refusing because this fits with their view of what a government should do—strictly enforce law and order, just like family should strictly enforce gender roles. They use Romans 13, which is where Sessions picked it up—through W.H. Bible study.
-
They're ignoring the words of the original Christian which supersedes all the other stuff in there. Romans 13 was also used to justify slavery, genocide of Native Americans and other atrocities. Everything the Nazis did was LEGAL.pic.twitter.com/h538VTRgPo

Yes! But along with critiquing their theology, we must work to understand it. This worldview is comprehensive and guiding/justifying the administrations actions across the board. Their interpretation has long been True for many Americans.
-
Yes, used to justify all sorts of atrocities like slavery, genocide of Native Americans for starters. I understand it and I find it appalling. Not to mention we supposedly have separation of church and state in this country. Everything the Nazis did was LEGALpic.twitter.com/1epps7tQCH

It’s not about the abortion it’s about controlling others while they are able to simultaneously condemn & judge others. We all know this right?
