Boycotts almost never work, but when they do, it's because the boycotters capture a highly relevant demographic, not a bunch of people who would never be caught dead buying your product, yet want you to piss off their customer base and please them instead.

Sure, of course. Any heavy Fox advertiser is likely to have a customer base that leans R. But an aggressive and nasty campaign could still do enough damage to make advertising on Fox not worth the bother. But pretty much everything is a longshot. Gotta try something, though.

The boycott which has worked is that woke CEOs have been starving FOX news of ad revenue. It isn't in response to weak consumer action, but arguably, such action gives the CEOs cover for doing what they already want to do.

As near as I can tell, Fox News barely needs advertisers and mostly floats along on their largest-in-the-industry carriage fees, which they force cable companies to swallow by... Threatening them with ads calling Fox News viewers to boycott if they drop them network.
