Please stop saying a mortality rate of 2% is no big deal, esp. since that risk is concentrated among the elderly and those with complicating conditions. I’m glad you’re young & your parents are under 65, but many people are, or love, elderly people. You sound unbelievably callous

Also, the only way to keep that fatality rate at 2% or lower is to give amazing levels of care to the 15% who require critical care and very long hospital stays.

Hospital stays will bankrupt many people. The government isn’t going to pay for care.

Also, 2% CFR doesn't include all the "tangential" fatalities that aren't caused directly by Covid-19 but are caused by the hospitals being overwhelmed and/or medical supply chains being messed up which cause other sick people to not get proper treatment and die.

Yup, if 2% of all Americans died, that would be 6 million killed. For comparison, under 500,000 Americans (civilians and military) died in WWII.
