Random trivia: Earth's mass is 5.9722±0.0006 × 1e27 g. That uncertainty? 6e23 g. Ceres's mass is 9e23. We only know the Earth's mass to plus or minus Ceres. That's because we only know the gravitational constant to 6-digit accuracy.

Unlike Betelgeuse (so far), our launch event at Bosque Brewing was a BLAST!

Despite the visible dimming, is stable in infrared. That's where most of the star's output is, and transparent to dust. Dimming likely due to dust formation. Betelgeuse is shedding, but probably not exploding just yet...

Accurately pinning down the age of the Earth depends on the OIL INDUSTRY's degree of messing up GASOLINE. It contaminates the lead in meteorites, used for radioactive (like carbon) dating. Next time you fill up your tank, go for unleaded gas, for the sake of astronomy.

More asteroids means a lot more water on Earth, the whole planet covered by a global ocean, no continents. And more impacts. A Moon the size of Mars would be nice though, more of cross-pollination (but beware of tides). To get rid of Uranus? No no. Jaturn (or Supiter) supported.

Being a new professor feels like standing at the grocery checkout with the conveyor belt going by really fast, and you can only grab every 10th thing and put it in your basket and like half the things are *super* important and the other half are only really important
