It appears @TeamYouTube is throttle/black listing my channel Astronomy Live from the search results on YouTube. @scrowder has been reporting this for his channel, so I ran tests using YouTube's API. Here's the program I wrote:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e3ZjzzFjRGZQ2HFeCoDTT8zdmQKsJS9f/view?usp=sharing …

Any idea why? You're hardly controversial, conspiracy fuelled or spouting hate. What do they achieve by shadow banning you?

That is a very scary question to me. As you know, I don't touch the third rail of politics publicly on my channel but if your algorithm knows that I watch
@scrowder privately, it's not hard to figure out. If they are starting to incorporate viewing history in search rankings...1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -
Ok, I'm an Aspie & often can't tell if the neurological typical are joking or not. But d'you mean the science denying, anthropogenic climate disruption decrying, right wing moron
@scrowder? I thought better of you!1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
I would say that my viewing history does not mean that I agree with everything that someone says, but the knee-jerk reaction is what scares me the most. The same reaction could be used to justify this kind of throttling based on viewing history.

Gotcha. I've watched stuff that makes my blood boil because how can you argue with someone if you can't argue for them. The best way to counter an argument is to understand their POV. But to be labelled thus just because you've researched the opposing stance isn't right!

I'm not saying that's the reason I view his videos either. I march to my own beat. Even if we assume the classifier is always correct, I still do not believe that is justification for suppressing someone's videos in the search results based purely on what they privately believe.
