There is a point past which being patient is just enabling. A lot of cis people want to have constant roundabout conversations about "these issues" because they want to feel like they're good people, not because they want to change anything, and they will bleed you dry for it

Man I’m sick of having gentle, coaxing conversations with cis people about transphobia. I’m sick of being so patient so consistently and then getting treated like The Reason People Have Understandable Reservations if I ever express an inch of feeling. I’m angry and exhausted

not too worried about the vape ban. i don't think my close friend and long-time collaborator, big tobacco, is going to let the government do that (preserve my health) to me

I think what I’m most impressed with is how many strands of creative practice Out of Bounds weaves together: multi screen film, interview, critical play, experimental game dev, social media. Such a good exemplar of how museums could interface w/ commercial screen culture.

Also if you're in a position of power, you have the ability to create "luck" by running mentorship programs, scholarships, activitly hiring diverse devs, having transparent hiring/award process, taking time to talk to students & emerging devs and much more

I'm a bit disappointed seeing ppl say that so much of "luck" is privilege, but not giving any useful advice for those without it. If you're lacking privilege it's even more important to increase the likelihood of good things, or "luck", happening to you

wish critics would probe knee-jerk reactions like this a bit more deeply -- why does this form of intertextuality bother you so much? have the reaction, fine, but think about why + tell me! feels critically insufficient to be like 'i just liked it less but no big deal i guess'
