Exciting news: @astro_timpeake's Sokol spacesuit is now officially part of the Science Museum Group Collection
See it at @msimanchester from Saturday with the #SoyuzTour & discover more here http://bit.ly/2Hm18Z4
This is a great question - we're going to try to answer all the questions sent to Tim about the space suit over on our blog in the next couple of weeks
I read Scott Kelly’s book and he said the Sokol is sealed by gathering material together and then holding it in place with rubber bands? I’m not doubting this but I really can’t see how on Earth (pardon the pun...) that works?! 🤷♂️
How is this possible Tim? I thought that there were a limited number of spacesuits that were used. Has this suit been decommissioned or is it just not needed at the moment? 😉 xx
Dear Tim, Very fortunate to meet you at the ASCL conf. I wanted to say I respected, and appreciated, you taking the time to meet delegates. Inspirational If I can encourage my daughter to achieve, and still be down to earth as you appear, I believe she can go far. Thank you, Nevil
