I believe the UNSC should've mandated an immediate, independent investigation of the scene & a local ceasefire. Neither side's rhetoric is convincing (judging from curation at the time, it didn't seem like a "non-incident".)

Cool. I'm going to say "fair enough." I disagree, but I get the distrust from the other size.

I'm interested in your take, always. To clarify, I've no sufficient cause to disbelieve that it was a typical Assad CW attack, but all the players are behaving in bad faith & escalating belligerence.

"Bad actors acting badly" is Syria in a nutshell. My country included. But for all of the sins of the West (and there are tons!), we don't do this. One government with the capability has repeatedly demonstrated they are willing to kill their own people for power.

So, who to believe?

In a nutshell, don't believe any govt/regime, fact-check & investigate everything, and hold every power to account. That's where the media failed during the Iraq war, directly impacting the intervention dogma & the potential for it to help Syria.
