Too bad, but I had low expectations https://twitter.com/guardian/status/973218718850404352 … RP1 was my favorite novel by far in the year I read it https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9969571-ready-player-one … (v @baphometx)

I haven't read yet the book. I am going to do it after watching the film, because i want to have low expectations

-
Definitely the way to go. Your imagined visuals from the book will be overwritten by the film, but that's not necessarily bad I guess. The book is a breathless geekgasm tour-de-force at any rate :)

Probably won't even bother to see the film, so as to not destroy the good-feel of the book.
-
Curiosity will get the better of me, but I've been on a process of "sandboxing" dubious adaptations ever since I decided to plod along w watching Altered Carbon. (Much of it was enticing, to be clear.)

Let alone the fact that he would have to water down all the 80s references of the book to make it more palatable to the you-tube generation.
-
Egad, that's the worst part I won't have any patience or understanding for. I hope he didn't.
-
Well, I got this idea just by listening to the sound bits of the trailer, so there. No 80s hallmark song to go with it.

Man, I saw both of them. What a pity. To totally annihilate such a wonderful book.
