Impressive visuals & production values alone aren't enough to elevate speculative fiction adaptation projects above mediocrity. That much should've been made obvious in the "new normal" post-GoT TV reality.

Yup, I wish I hadn't seen that trailer, gave me awkward vibes about the adaptation from the get-go.

Probably won't even bother to see the film, so as to not destroy the good-feel of the book.

Curiosity will get the better of me, but I've been on a process of "sandboxing" dubious adaptations ever since I decided to plod along w watching Altered Carbon. (Much of it was enticing, to be clear.)
