Season finale verdict: brilliant series, nail-biting office/tradecraft drama, good -though sparse- action & solid performances all around, esp. by Darroussin, excellent herehttps://twitter.com/asteris/status/949805862624866304 …
In particular, The Bureau totally nails the depiction of Assad's mukhabarat & the IRGC, at least from what is publicly known. (Western agencies too, but the only American CIA spook in evidence is miscast in delivery, if not in appearance.)

I don’t know about The Bureau (will look it up) but I can highly recommend the late 70’s/early 80’s British Cold War espionage classic The Sandbaggers.

It has been compared to it in forums, but it's hard to find old series outside syndicated reruns nowadays. Do check out The Bureau, it's worth your time if you enjoy realistic spook lit.

Thanks, will do. Sandbaggers is out on disc and you can always check out @ruckawriter ‘s Queen & Country graphic & prose novels series if you are interested in a modern re-imagining of the original. Enjoy! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_%26_Country …
