Brief tech rant: Looks like the phone/tablet market is getting crappier by the year. C. 2017, I still can’t find devices worthy of being called successors of the Nexus 4/5/7’s

Esp. the tablet segment has basically shrunk to “which iPad should I get?”. I don’t want an iPad, I want at least one affordable/powerful/compact quasi-stock Android device. In 2017, not sure it exists

3 quasi-decent contestants are the Lenovo Tab4 Plus, Huawei Mediapad m3 & Asus Zenpad 3S. But the market is pushing crappy low end (eg. 16gb, no 4G) versions & they all have hardware issues

So many forum posts by disillusioned folks looking to replace their Nexus 7’s with one of those tablets (I’m one of them, there’s no real N7 successor)
